Cynthia Raffa | Wellness Specialist
Cynthia Raffa comes to Optimal Wellness with a passion for people and Dr. Greene’s vision of overall health and well being. She has a strong desire to utilize her background in fashion to educate, network and guide people to obtain their prime aging potential. Cynthia met Dr. Greene as a direct result of her own personal journey to find a doctor with the compassion and ability to think outside of the box in healthcare. After years of dead ends it was a simple article in Life Extension Magazine on the importance of hormonal balance and BioTe that ended her frustration and led her to Dr. Greene. She now enjoys a great quality of life thanks to Dr. Greene’s comprehensive approach to mindful living.
Cynthia obtained her B.S. in Production Management: Apparel and Textiles with an A.A.S. in Fashion Buying and Merchandising from one of the country’s most prestigious fashion institutions, Fashion Institute of Technology. She resided in NYC for over twenty four years and worked in the fast track of NYC media as a fashion editor and fashion stylist . The first eight years after F.I.T., Cynthia worked as an accessory editor and fashion editor for such clients as Butterick, Vogue Patterns, Vogue Knitting, Family Circle and Prima magazines. Over the next sixteen years she worked in TV as a fashion stylist and makeover TV show consultant.
Cynthia’s career in TV started when the Executive Producer from the Emmy Award Winning, Sally Jessy Raphael Show, was looking for a NYC fashion editor. Cynthia’s objective was to create a new image for the show as it embarked upon its relocation from New Haven to NYC. In her new role a fashion stylist and wardrobe supervisor, Cynthia enjoyed working with renowned celebrity hair stylist Richard Penna to create the full Sally image for fourteen years. Richard and Cynthia had such a rapport with viewers that the network and Sally decided to form makeover shows that became highly rated and a twelve year branch of the show. The makeover shows were diverse, innovative and the first of its kind. Topics included: Help, My High School Reunion is Coming, Help me Make my Grunge Teen into a Swan and Wheelchair Makeovers. Cynthia felt honored to apply her tools to help contestants leave the show with a brand new outlook on how they envisioned themselves.
The Sally Jessy Raphael Show provided Cynthia the unique opportunity to work with celebrities such as: Roseanne Barr, Richard Simmons, Brooke Shields, Diane Sawyer, Cybill Shepherd, Ivanka Trump, Joan Rivers, Greg Kinnear, Kathie Lee Gifford and Katherine Hepburn to name a few. Additionally, her role as celebrity fashion stylist required extensive travel and numerous publicity events which included: The Tonight Show, The Arsenio Hall Show, as well as movie sets for, It’s Pat and She Devil and The Addams Family. Cynthia extended her fashion styling globally when she became the fashion stylist for The Vanessa Feltz Show (London, England) for eight years. During her career, Cynthia had the joy of returning back to her alma mater, Fashion Institute of Technology, to encourage the next generation of fashion talent. Her role as Adjunct Professor for the Business and Technology Department and the Center for Professional Studies Department provided her this amazing opportunity.
